My husband, our friends, and I have a dream of opening our first (of very many) Musical Synergy Centers here in Atlanta.

Vision

• A community center where local people can come to learn to play an instrument, sing, or learn about music
• The new students could choose to earn the musical instrument of their choice by donating their time and energy into various community services with which we will partner.  Some examples would be:  Habitat for Humanity, Local Animal Shelters, Community Beautification Organizations, etc.
• At the point in time where they had donated enough community service, the musical instrument will be theirs to keep
• The intent is to teach the concept of giving of yourself in service for the betterment of your community, and thusly to the world as a whole, in order to enrich your own life.  It is possible for everyone to win, and we believe that it is a key lesson to learn as early in life as possible.
• The center would be staffed with a small full-time administrative and executive staff, professional musicians, music teachers, and volunteer musicians.
• The volunteer musicians would donate their time in exchange for studio and technical mixing credits.  They also have the added benefit of exposure to other local musicians in ways they would not have otherwise have had.
• Twice yearly concerts for the exhibition of the center’s students and musicians in conjunction with established local musicians and groups
• Run as a non-profit organization; using donations to fund the center’s activities with a goal of being able to offer scholarships for particularly promising students to established music schools
• Establish a private record label to help promote the musical careers of the students and volunteer teachers
• Plan and participate in community awareness-raising events to promote the centers and their members
• Become the focal point for a network of like-minded people to build an ever-widening symbiotic circle of service, opportunity, music, creativity, and enlightenment.
• Create a successful pattern for community service, opportunity for budding musicians, and vehicle for evolving consciousness through music that will be repeated until every major city has a Musical Synergy Center.
• The only requirements would be a sincere desire to learn about music or a musical instrument and the willingness to give of oneself in return.
